Camp SEMO Wappapello

Camp SEMO Wappapello is a not-for-profit public youth camp operated by a Board of Directors, appointed to represent area Lutheran Church Missouri District, Missouri Synod Congregations. It is located on 190 acres of heavily wooded land leased from the Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District. Camp SEMO has facilities to serve the area youth for camps, retreats, outdoor worship, recreation, picnics, reunions, meetings, and relaxation. Ten (10) air-conditioned cabins sleep 97 persons bunk bed style. A well equipped dining hall/cooking galley seats 100+ campers. Perfect for outdoor games, crafts, eating and more. The 60' X 80' lighted pavilion has tables and benches, concrete floor for dancing, and basketball goals for rainy day recreation. An outdoor Vespers area will seat 200+ for worship or other large gathering needs. The athletic field is complete with aluminum bleachers and backstop for softball, volleyball, horseshoe pits. A secluded primitive area is available for tents and pop-up campers. Also a four pad camping area with complete hook ups.

Support from area LCMS congregations contribute to help with capital improvements. Volunteers serve as board members and help to maintain the buildings and grounds. Donations of materials and funds are needed in order to provide a well maintained facility at affordable rates.
